Adam Wernicke earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Centenary College of New Jersey and his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law. Before attending college and law school, Adam enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 2006.
While in the United States Coast Guard, Adam served aboard the Coast Guard Cutter JUNIPER, assisting in the maintenance of aids-to-navigation for the safe transit of vessels in the New York Harbor and beyond. Additionally, after achieving the rank of Gunners Mate Third Class, Adam served at Maritime Safety and Security Team New York – a deployable specialized forces counter-terrorism team of the United States Coast Guard, tasked with the protection of maritime assets through port waterway and coastal security operations.
While in law school, Adam applied his practical experience with the United States Coast Guard and knowledgebase of maritime regulations to his classroom assignments and earned three CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Maritime Security Law, Maritime Litigation, and Admiralty Law.
Adam joined Hill, Betts, and Nash LLP, in October 2019 and works on cases involving the Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation, and other actions that arise from general maritime law.
